Frequently Asked Questions
Ingredients & Sourcing
Do you use natural ingredients?
Yes! All of our ingredients are all natural and non-GMO. Our yogurts are free from artificial flavors and colors, gums or stabilizers, and contain no preservatives. We source our milk from farmers who pledge to not use rGBH / rBST*
*the FDA has determined that no significant difference has been shown between milk derived from rBST-supplemented and non-rBST-supplemented cows
Does Pillars have no added sugar*?
The only sugars in our products come from the naturally occurring sugars in our milk. We lightly sweeten our products with organic stevia extract, never with added sugars, for a smooth, balanced taste.
*not a low-calorie food
Why does the label show sugar if there's no added sugar?
The sugars listed on the nutrition label represent the naturally occurring sugars found in milk, such as lactose. Pillars contains no added sugars.
What's the difference between probiotics and prebiotics?
Probiotics are the live and active cultures found in yogurt that help support digestive and immune health. Pillars contains six live probiotic cultures: S. thermophilus, L. bulgaricus, L. acidophilus, Bifidus, L. casei, and L. rhamnosus. These “good bugs” aid in digestive health and boost immunity, as well as drive the fermentation process that makes yogurt, ‘yogurt’!
Prebiotics are a type of fiber that help nourish those beneficial probiotics. The proprietary prebiotic fiber in Pillars is derived from fructan fiber and is included to help support a healthy gut microbiome, one of the pillars of vibrant health and well-being.
How many live and active cultures are in each bottle?
Every bottle of Pillars contains billions of live and active cultures to support the fermentation process and deliver a great-tasting yogurt experience.
Why are all of the flavors white?
We do not use artificial colors in our products. Because our yogurt is made with milk and real ingredients, all flavors naturally maintain the same white appearance, even though each flavor has its own distinct taste.
Where do you source your milk?
100% of the delicious and nutrient-dense milk to make our yogurt comes from healthy, happy cows on family-owned farms in New York state. We’re proud to support these hardworking farmers and to use their milk to make our yogurt!
What kind of milk does Pillars drinkable yogurt use?
Pillars is made with pasteurized nonfat skim milk.
Nutrition
How many grams of protein are in your single serve bottles?
22 grams.
How many grams of protein are in your multi serve 32oz bottles?
15 grams per 8oz serving.
Why is the serving size different between the 12oz and 32oz sizes?
The serving size reflects how each product is most commonly used. The 12oz container is generally enjoyed as a single portion, while the 32oz container is intended to be portioned out over several servings. As a result, the serving size listed on the Nutrition Facts panel differs between the two package sizes.
I'm counting carbs - what do I need to know about pillars?
A 12 oz bottle of Pillars contains 12g of total carbohydrates*, including 2g of prebiotic fiber. This results in 10g of net carbs per bottle, making it a clean, low-carb and high-protein option for those tracking their carb intake.
*Total carbs include all carbohydrates in a serving, including fiber. Because fiber is not fully digested, net carbs are calculated by subtracting fiber from total carbohydrates.
